Innovative Practices A broad range of educational innovations—technological, pedagogical, structural, and financial—is playing an increasingly important role in supporting student persistence and degree completion in our national drive to increase postsecondary attainment. The Center for Education Attainment and Innovation is involved in a number of initiatives designed to better understand these innovations. Using an evidence-based approach, we help students, faculty, and institutional leaders identify the innovations best suited to their unique needs. Our work includes helping senior leaders understand the forces driving change in higher education; how to advance and scale change and transformation initiatives at an institution; and the roles of educational technology, open educational resources, new business models, and new pedagogical models such as competency-based education.
