Homeschooling for College Credit Second Edition Jennifer Cook-DeRosa, MS
What age can my child start earning college credit? A: Any age! I know of a few exceptionally bright families with children as young as 12 earning college credit, but in general, a teen of average intelligence and ability can attempt college credit as soon as their reading comprehension level is high enough. Typically, colleges require students to be in 11th and 12th grade to enroll in dual enrollment courses, but that varies by state. If your teen is too young, you can DIY a college credit program at home and use a CLEP exam. In general, 9th grade is a fine time for probably half of the high school students.
The immediate goal of the University-Model® educational system is quality, cost-effective college-preparatory education accomplished in a way that gives parents more time for imparting the faith and values they hold precious. The ultimate goal is that of producing wholesome, competent men and women of character who make a positive difference for Christ in the next generation.
